Perez Hilton the Sniveling Crybaby

So this Perez Hilton guy is a little crybaby. You remember him—hes the guy who started the “Miss California Controversy” by asking her what she thought about gay marriage. He is a celebrity blogger, which means that he gets up in peoples faces, acts like a royal ass, and demands attention. He leeches off of their own credibility and fan-base in order to establish a reputation for himself. He recently made the news for being punched in the face by the tour manager of Black Eyed Peas. You can see the fight here (warning: language). Here is a picture of the poor, poor abused man after being punched.

Perez Hilton Punched

This entire scenario–and the fact that it is, evidently, newsworthy–is disgusting. Mr. Hilton, who idolizes celebrity by following them around and writing about them, represents everything that is bad about our society. Celebrities are silly, mundane people just like the rest of us, and what they had for breakfast or their views on tulips should not be the foundation of a man’s career. Hilton is partly to blame for this, but we, the consumers, are also to blame. After all, Hilton would just be another anonymous blogger if people like us didn’t read his trash.

His character defects are further demonstrated in how aggressive he is, and how he seems to think that he is entitled to whatever information about whichever celebrity he wants. This is why he got punched in the face by the manager of Black Eyed Peas. Instead of respecting the band’s privacy and leaving them alone, as they requested, he became a nosy, belligerent little twerp and started making demands. It escalated when he called the manager a “faggot”, which prompted the punch in the face.

The scenario is further exacerbated by the backlash Hilton is now getting from the gay community for using the slur “faggot”. What is this, middle-school? Yes, the word is crass and, if he were a classy individual he would not have used it. But we have already established that he is not a classy individual, as is demonstrated by his chosen career path, so why should we be surprised when he spouts profanity? Instead of throwing a little tantrum because a moron said something moronic, we should simply dismiss the man as being the irrelevant bit of steam that he is.

The manager of Black Eyed Peas is hardly free from fault of his own, though. He demanded “respect” from Hilton, and any time you demand respect, it means you haven’t really earned it. Respect is given to the respectable, and if a man refuses to give respect to one who deserves it, the respectable thing to do is to ignore him. The manager didn’t. Instead, he responded to being called a “faggot” by punching Hilton—not face to face, as a man does, but from behind, as Hilton was apparently walking away.

Honestly, I think that a verbal assault can at times deserve a physical rebuttal. I often wish this wasn’t a society where a man can get sued within an inch of his life for giving someone a fist-to-the-jaw kind of response. I don’t like rows, but sometimes they are appropriate. Did Hilton deserve a smack in the face for using a slur, being disrespectful and being where he didn’t belong? Sure. Why not. It is far better, I think, then having the gay community tear their clothing over a slur, Hilton snivel about his wounds on Twitter, and a manager act like a coward by striking a man in the back. I mean look at this guy again:

Perez Hilton Punched

Doesn’t this sniveling crybaby look like he needs a nice thrashing? And where are his injuries? I see a minuscule cut underneath his eye. I was wounded more deeply the last time I mowed the lawn. For the love of Pete.

Awesome post! And sadly so true – Perez is just an idiot who managed to get famous by doing what he does best – being annoying as hell.

Isnt it something of an oximoron to give this kind of punk even more publicity , negative nontheless publicity?

On a side note i think theres a point to be made about the degree of ease with which one might avoid this kind of pop culture junk. Put in other terms i am completely out of touch with US pop culture and up’till now to mr Hilton’s existence. My good fortune in the matter is due to my lack of interest and the fact that i live in Greece. One can argue that in most European countries we have our own little twisted niche for that kind of thing but i’d wager that if you are genuinly not interested its not shoved in your face to much. I am not sure whether that is the case in the States

He SO reminded me of that guy who was crying and doing the “Leave Britney Alone!” back when she was doing her melt-down.

Did they study at the same “whine” school?

    Good post, Oxhorn.

I’m thinking that because in this society where it’s OK for blacks to call each other the “N” word he thought it’s OK for gays to use the “F” (not the 4-letter variety) word. I guess he found out he was wrong. That’s what he gets for listening to Mr. Garrison.
